March 15 Cooking Class | Masters Classics by Very Vera TIME:12:00-1:30 PLACE: The Cottage INFO: Join us for a 1-hour cooking class at the Cottage! Vera Stewart, host of The VeryVera Show and former Home Economics teacher, will be teaching a series of cooking classes this spring to help you gain confidence in the kitchen and gain valuable cooking skills! Our March 15th class will teach you two great recipes for the Masters: VeryVera Pimento Cheese and Arnold Palmer cupcakes! Vera will walk you through the steps, and then you will have the opportunity to make them yourself! The class will end with the opportunity to taste your work well done and take the rest home to share! You will also have the opportunity to purchase a VeryVera Cookbook at half price during this class! This class is limited to 6 students. KC & The Sunshine Band TIME: 7:30PM PLACE: Bell Auditorium INFO: KC and the Sunshine Band are still as widely popular today as they were when they first danced into the music scene 40 years ago.  Harry Wayne Casey – KC for short – developed a unique fusion of R&B and funk, with a hint of a Latin percussion groove, giving us an impressive string of hits like “GET DOWN TONIGHT,” “THAT’S THE WAY (I LIKE IT),” and “SHAKE YOUR BOOTY.” With sales of over 100 million records, nine Grammy nominations, three Grammy Awards, and an American Music Award, KC and the Sunshine Band was one of the most progressive bands of the 70’s and is credited with changing the sound of modern pop music!   March 17 St. Patrick's Celebration & Parade TIME: 4:00-11:00 PLACE: Augusta Common INFO: The parade is free and for all ages and begins at 2 pm from the 7th Street James Brown Arena parking lot. The Parade will take the traditional route to Telfair St., up to 11th, then turning right onto Broad Street, and then back down to 6th Street where we will return to the James Brown Arena Parking lot. The St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins at 2 pm as is immediately followed by a FREE festival on the Augusta Common!! Friends With Benefits Production is thrilled to partner with the Irish-American Heritage Society and the City of Augusta for this family-friendly community event.   March 22 The Price is Right Live! TIME: 8:00PM PLACE: Bell Auditorium INFO: The Price Is Right Live™ is the hit interactive stage show that gives eligible individuals the chance to hear their names called and “Come On Down” to win. Prizes may include appliances, vacations, and possibly a new car! Play classic games just like on television’s longest running and most popular game show… from Plinko™ to Cliffhangers™ to The Big Wheel™ and even the fabulous Showcase. March 30 Legends of Hip Hop TIME: 8:00PM PLACE: Bell Auditorium INFO: The Legends of Hip Hop Tour featuring Juvenile, Scarface, Too Short, DJ Quik, 8Ball & MJG, Bun B, and Pastor Troy is coming to the James Brown Arena on March 30th!   March 31 Fourth Annual Easter Egg Drop TIME: 11:00-1:00 PLACE: Augusta Common INFO: The event will include thousands of treat-filled Easter eggs dropped from a ladder fire truck, inflatable bounce houses, refreshments, family-friendly activities and more. There will be a special section for children under 3-years-old. The first egg drop will take place at noon for children ages 4 – 8 years. At 12:30, the second egg drop will be held for children ages 9 – 12 years. The Annual Easter Egg Drop is free and open to the public.   Hip Hop Bunny Drop TIME: 10:00-1:00 PLACE: Kroc Center of Augusta INFO: Chafee Park will be filled with fun activities for all the kids to enjoy. We will have bounce houses, egg hunts, face painting, crafts and so much more. Kids will get to hear the Easter Story and get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny! This is a FREE event and open to the public. Easter Egg Scramble TIME: 10:00-1:00 PLACE: Evans Town Center Park INFO: Please join us at Evans Towne Center Park for our Annual Easter Egg Scramble. Children are divided by age group to create a safe environment. More than 50,000 eggs are scattered on the lawn. Raffle prizes and Easter Bunny Pictures are included!
